EU launch­es con­sul­ta­tion to devel­op guide­lines and Code of Prac­tice on trans­par­ent AI

The goal of the guide­lines and Code of Prac­tice is to ensure users are clear­ly informed when inter­act­ing with AI, includ­ing gen­er­a­tive con­tent and emotion/biometric cat­e­gori­sa­tion systems. 

The Com­mis­sion invites providers and deploy­ers of gen­er­a­tive and inter­ac­tive AI as well as researchers and civ­il soci­ety to respond; a call for expres­sions of inter­est to help draft the Code runs until 2 Octo­ber 2025.

It is not­ed that AI Act trans­paren­cy oblig­a­tions apply from 2 August 2026.
