The UK Notified Body Lloyds Register (LRQA) announced that it will not apply for designation under the medical devices and IVD regulations (MDR and IVDR).

The announcement comes at a time when the availability of Notified Body services under the new regulations seems to be one of the major hurdles on the way to a smooth transition process.

LRQA furthermore stated that it will withdraw its services under the medical devices and IVD directives (MDD and IVDD).

Looking at these events, manufacturers are strongly advised to seek contact with their certifying body and make sure that support under the regulations are safeguarded.
